Set to Michael Laurello’s piano composition of the same name, Boreal will parallel ecological terrain with maternal terrain. Created in the wake of new motherhood, the work will reflect on the body as a site of transformation. Boreal landscapes are vast and enduring, yet acutely vulnerable to climate change, wildlife, and ecological disruption. The dance will hold tension between vulnerability and endurance, starkness and wonder, asking how fragility and resilience coexist within both ecosystems and families.
